A traditional Ibicencan Finca
We transformed this crumbling finca from the seventies into a holiday haven. First all the lacquered sabina beams were sandblasted to their natural timber colour. Secondly the exterior doors and shutters were white washed and we added a perimeter wall with a salvaged Moroccan door into the courtyard, to provide a focal point. The interior floors were tiled with natural small scale herringbone terracotta and the in the bathrooms we used a mixture of microcement and pebbles mixed with old stone troughs for sinks. Placing locally forged pegolas in the courtyard gave much needed shade from the Spanish summer sun without the requirement to build any extra porches and felt more harmonious with the Mediterranean grasses and planting.
